Designing Tomorrow: Computational Insights, Industrial Expertise, and Gracious Professionalism

We are delighted to invite you to this exciting event, part of a series hosted by BS99, founded by Dr. Cheney Chen, For this particular event, we gratefully acknowledge the support of FIRST and ACCAPE.

Our keynote speaker is Dr. Halil Erhan, Professor at SFU’s School of Interactive Arts and Technology and Co-Director of the Computational Design Lab. Dr. Erhan’s pioneering research delves into design as a cognitive, collaborative process, enhanced by tools that support the creation of built environments and interactive systems.

The event will begin with Dr. Erhan’s introduction to computational design and his research. This will be followed by a panel discussion featuring Dr. Erhan and interdisciplinary experts, moderated by Dr. Chen. Later, two student teams preparing for the December 14th FIRST Tech Challenge Qualifying Tournament will showcase their robot designs and conduct on-site outreach activities. We’ll conclude the session with networking opportunities, allowing attendees to connect and mingle.
